A Chinese Man After Reportedly Sh00ting 22-Year-Old Mthandazo Sibanda At The Binnyup 5 Mine In Filabusi, Matabeleland South, Xu Guoqing, 60, Was Taken Into Custody On January 22. According To Reports, A 9mm Derya Pistol Was Used In The Event.

According To Court Records That Zimlive Was Able To Collect, Sibanda Was Shot From Behind, Striking His Left Buttock Before The Bullet Departed Through His Upper Right Thigh. Additionally, His Right Hand Was Injured By The Missile As It Traveled.

Uukumetsi Matjaka Nare (Guoqing’s Lawyer) Informed The Court That Sibanda Was Reportedly Escaping With Stolen Gold Dump When The Accused First Fired Warning Rounds To Dissuade Him. But Guoqing Then Targeted Sibanda's Legs, Which Is How The Injuries Occurred.

Guoqing's Motion Was Denied On Monday By Gwanda Regional Magistrate Sithembile Ndebele, Who Cited The Victim's Severe Condition At The United Bulawayo Hospitals.

“The Attempted Murder Charge Against The Accused Could Escalate To Murder If The Victim Succumbs To His Injuries,” Ndebele Said.

Guoqing’s Legal Team Announced  They Will Appeal The Decision In The High Court. “We Intend To File An Appeal Against The Decision,”
