Following the gasoline tanker explosion at Dikko Junction in Gurara Local Government Area on Saturday, the Federal Government has sent its sympathies to the Niger government and people.

Reports states that the death toll from the petrol tanker
explosion has risen to 86, with 55 others injured and taken to hospital.

a statement issued on Sunday, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty
Reduction, Prof. Nantewe Yilwatda, called the tragedy terrible, stating that it
resulted in numerous fatalities and significant property damage.
The Minister cautioned drivers against reckless driving that could threaten innocent lives, voicing alarm about the country's increasing frequency of tanker explosions.
Yilwatda said
“I am deeply saddened by the frequent occurrence of tanker explosions in the country, which always leads to loss of lives, injuries, and property damage,”
“I share in the pain of the community
who lost their loved ones in this devastating incident.”
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force and other concerned Nigerians who helped remove the victims from the area.
