US
President Donald Trump Signed An Executive Order Monday Night Promising To
Abolish Birthright Citizenship In The Country.
Although
There Is Widespread Legal Agreement That The Constitution Ensures That All
People Born In The United States Are Granted U.S. Citizenship

The
1898 decision, according to some legal experts who want a crackdown on
immigration, has been read too broadly, and the current Supreme Court may
permit the government to impose more stringent requirements for citizenship.
Additionally, it's unclear if the courts will find that Trump has the authority
to solve the matter without the support of a congressional act.
On
behalf of a group representing Indonesian migrants in New Hampshire, as well as
other groups representing Latinos and Dreamers—people brought to the United
States as children by parents who entered or stayed in the country
illegally—immigrant rights advocates filed a lawsuit Monday night in federal
court in New Hampshire.
“Neither
The Constitution Nor Any Federal Statute Confers Any Authority On The President
To Redefine American Citizenship,” The Suit Says. “By Attempting To Limit The
Right To Birthright Citizenship, The Order Exceeds The President’s Authority
And Runs Afoul Of The Constitution And Federal Statute.”
New Hampshire lawsuit States that Trump's order is in violation of both federal law that has been in effect for more than 80 years and the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
