In Nigeria, It has been revealed by HRH Eze Philip Ajomiwe, the traditional ruler of Oriendu autonomous community, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State Nigeria, that more than 30 bodies of victims of alleged ritual killings have been discovered in the Imo River in the last year.
"Like the most recent one, the bodies are either completely naked and without their private parts or in a bag." Additionally, there have been reports of two decaying bodies discovered next to the NNPC pipeline.
Young females make up the majority of the victims. The ritualists typically arrive at night to dispose of their victims' bodies in the Imo River, and we awaken in the morning to see their presence.
According to him, the community's vigilante group's attempts to apprehend the culprits had also failed since they lacked the necessary equipment.
“So, we’re appealing to the state government to empower the vigilante group with the necessary logistics and the wherewithal to enable it to match the suspects, We have reported even to the DSS, and they came here and held a meeting with us. We need the Government’s intervention to apprehend those behind this atrocity.”” he said
