Nine plastic bags of cocaine, weighing roughly 0.8 grams each, totaling 7.2 grams, were found in the suspect's bedroom, wrapped in black tape, and placed in a brown plastic bag. The arrest came after a tip that a foreign person was supplying cocaine to tourists in the area. The officers arrived at the suspect's location early in the morning after conducting surveillance and obtaining intelligence

Before John Paul gave them access, they observed his questionable actions, which is how the narcotics were found. Upon interrogation, the defendant allegedly acknowledged purchasing cocaine from an unnamed foreign supplier in Bang Tao Beach and profitably resold it to overseas customers.

He claimed to have already sold some of the twelve bars of cocaine he purchased for 2,000 baht apiece and sold for 3,000 baht each. Cocaine is a Category 2 drug that John Paul is accused of possessing with the intent to sell without authorisation. After being advised of his legal rights, he was turned over to the Thalang Police Station to await more legal action.
