Bandits assaulted Maibakko village in Katsina state's Sabuwa Local Government region, killing two people. However, the police were notified, and they stopped the assault and freed the 13 people who had been abducted.

Heavy-armed bandits raided the community early on Thursday, February 6, shooting intermittently and abducting locals, according to police sources.

Workers from the Sabuwa Divisional Police Headquarters quickly responded to a distress call at approximately 1:43 am, and they engaged the attackers in a heated gunfight.

Thirteen people who had been kidnapped were rescued as a result of the attackers being forced to retreat by the gunfight.

Unfortunately, the assault claimed the lives of two individuals and injured another.
