•  TRUMP AND PUTIN TO SCHEDULE TO MEET IN SAUDI ARABIA OVER UKRAINE

On Wednesday, February 12, U.S. President Donald Trump said that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saudi Arabia to discuss peace in the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

According to reports, Trump and Putin decided that "the time has come to work together" on a solution for Ukraine during the "lengthy and highly productive" discussion. Trump posted on the Truth Social platform that both leaders wanted to "stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was instrumental in a recent prisoner exchange between the United States and Russia, is also present at this conference. 

Despite not being on the call with Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later spoke with Trump, who reassured Zelensky that he and Putin both desired peace. 

Ukraine's position that its "independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty" cannot be compromised was reaffirmed by Zelensky.In Ukraine and European capitals, the revelation of the discussions has sparked worries that the United States may be caving in to Russian pressure.

 According to Pentagon commander Pete Hegseth, NATO membership is "not realistic," which is in line with Moscow's demands, and Ukraine's objective of regaining its pre-2014 borders is unachievable. Foreign ministers from France, Germany, and Spain have emphasized that Ukraine and its European allies must be included in any peace deal.
